Aracely Palomares-Neeley, LCSW
I am a Texas licensed clinical social worker, with 20 years of direct client experience. Pre- and postgraduate work over the years includes working in the corporate sector, hospital/hospice setting and working in a government agency as well as with a nonprofit agency. It was the desire to know more about the clinical aspect of working with clients that drove the need for further education. A graduate degree was obtained from the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work where I was one of approximately five Hispanic students to earn a Master of Social Work degree in my graduating class. My training was geared towards working with families and children. My scope of experience has expanded to working with all individuals from teenagers to the geriatric.

An avid scrapbooker, I enjoy photography; my twin boys are my favorite subject to photograph. I enjoy documenting family life in keepsake scrapbooks. To date, I have completed over 40 scrapbooks. In addition to a busy family and work life, in December 2009 I earned a black belt from Cho’s Tae Kwon Do Black Belt Academy.
I believe that giving back to the community is a necessity to maintaining balance in my professional life.
I am an active mental health professional with the Give an Give an Hour organization as a volunteer.
Give an Hour is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), founded in September 2005 by Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen Romberg, a psychologist in the Washington, D.C., area. The organization’s mission is to develop national networks of volunteers capable of responding to both acute and chronic conditions that arise within our society. Currently, GAH is dedicated to meeting the mental health needs of the troops and families affected by the ongoing conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Give an Hour has providers across the nation—in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico—and continues to recruit volunteer mental health professionals to its network. .
